95 лет ФГБНУ «ВНИИГиМ имени А.Н. Костякова» возглавляет мелиоративную науку страны. За этот период сделано много. Институт дал крупнейших ученых в области мелиорации и гидротехники, создал школу специалистов высшей квалификации. Проблемы повышения эффективности сельского хозяйства при обеспечении экологической устойчивости агроландшафтов, развития АПК за счет разработки научного обоснования, технологий, конструкций, способов и методов проведения комплексных мелиораций, механизации мелиоративных работ, гидротехники, экономических исследований – в сфере внимания института. Важная роль в исследованиях принадлежит повышению эффективности водохозяйственного комплекса АПК, совершенствованию системы управления водными ресурсами. Сегодня перед аграрным сектором экономики стоят новые большие задачи, и успех их решения зависит от научного вклада ученых института.
